« EAM / CMMS Mobility testimonies: the management of rolling stock and infrastructures at the heart of the railway performance in the Midldle East and Europe! »

During this conference, you will be given a presentation of three outstanding projects relating to the performance optimization of the piloting and management of rail maintenance activities using the CMMS tool CARL Source.

Public Transportation of Fribourg (Switzerland): the CMMS as a support tool for the reorganization of the Public transport system’s maintenance.
TPF will open a new maintenance and operations center during the fall of 2018. This will be a real change for the 102 technicians used to work on 3 different sites and by main areas of expertise. The reorganization of the maintenance activity was anticipated at the end of 2017 by the implementation of a single CMMS Software, CARL Source Transport. For 10 months, the CMMS allowed to structure the maintenance activity towards more transversality: homogenization of maintenance processes, optimization of maintenance ranges, better resources planning, rationalization of stock etc. Regarding railway activity, the improvement objectives are numerous and can be measured by the CMMS: optimization of diagnostics and analyzes of sensitive components, preventive maintenance, maintenance invoicing operations management etc..

Speakers: Luc Meyer, Head of the Technical Department, Road and Rail, and Florian Viseur, CMMS Manager for the Public Transportation of Fribourg.

Ferrovie Emilia Romagna / FER (Italy) – How to use a CMMS mobile application to optimize the performance of trains and infrastructures maintenance inspection.
FER is responsible for the quality of the Emilia-Romagna district public rail transport, which is the 2nd largest area for rail transport in Italy. The company relies on CARL Source CMMS to check the daily1.300 trains, 460 railway stations, 2.200 ticket etc. Each day, all inspectors gettheir assigned inspections notifications on CARL Touch with their predefined checklists; (cleaning on board, number of seats, audio-video information system, doors, toilets etc..). Technical data assigned to each train or single coach are recorded into the CMMS. The real time compilation of check-list in CARL Source CMMS brings out the detected non-conformities and automatically activates their management. By using the CMMS, Ferrovie Emilia Romagna evaluates all non-conformities, applies penalties and gets the necessary indicators to maintain the quality of public transport services and improve the overall maintenance management..

Speakers: Fabrizio Maccari, Technical Manager Ferrovie Emilia Romagna.

Iran Railways: The CMMS at the service of a national project to rationalize the maintenance of rolling stock and workshops.
The Iranian railways company initiated an improvement process of the maintenance performance of its rolling stock and workshops. CARL Source CMMS was chosen to structure this approach, to homogenize maintenance methods and rationalize the stock management of the country’s 85 workshops.

Speakers: Pejman Attal, CMMS project manager – PONIC Company.
